Gamer Shane Birkinbine asked his girlfriend to marry him with a little help from Italian plumber Super Mario.
Shane, a huge fan of the Nintendo game, made a bespoke level of the game which culminated in blocks spelling out ‘Pam will you marry me?’
Shane, from Arkansas, in the US, shared a video of Pam Edwards navigating the game and finding the all-important question.
It has been viewed more than 30,000 times on Facebook and more than 120,000 times on YouTube.
In the footage, he switches between filming the self-created level in Mario Maker and his girlfriend’s reaction.
Pam can be seen collecting coins, hitting blocks and jumping across moving platforms before the question comes into view.
But Shane’s gf is so focused on the game she almost doesn’t notice it.
Luckily he was on hand to help her figure it out.
“What’s that say?” he asks. “The blocks… It spells out your name I think.”
Pam was amazed even that he had managed to make her name, exclaiming: “How did you do that?”
“Master gamer,” replies Shane, as the rest of the blocks come into view.
“What does it say?” he asks.
Luckily for the Super Mario fan she said “yes, of course” before finishing the game.
