Fancy a real fright this Halloween? Look no further.

An app is offering Londoners the chance to take their spooky celebrations to another level – by having an actual spirit delivered straight to their home (or office) door.

Handy, which usually helps users book cleaners, is making supernatural and technological history this Halloween with its latest initiative: “ghosts on-demand”.

So a ghost isn’t going to rock up and shout boo, but you will be sent a (potentially) possessed plant from the garden of Samlesbury Hall.

The fourteenth century Lancastrian house is considered one of the most haunted locations in Britain, and has witnessed countless deaths and murders.

It even featured on paranormal TV show Most Haunted – so it must be pretty spooky.

Those who dare to opt in (for free) and request a plant through the Handy app COULD help one of the house’s resident ghouls hitch a ride.

BUT BE WARNED – Handy will accept no responsibility for any poltergeist who chooses to take up residence.

Pete Dowds, UK country manager for Handy, said the initiative was about bringing ghosts to the masses.

“For centuries, having a ghost has been a luxury only those who lived in stately homes could afford. This simply wasn’t fair – why should aristocrats have a monopoly on hauntings in the UK?”, he said.

“We wanted to democratise the ghost market in time for Halloween, so that anyone and everyone with a house or office to haunt could have the chance to order a ghoul.”
