These days if you you have an axe to grind, most of us take to Twitter.

However, that was an issue for many on Tuesday morning as the social media platform suffered a major outage that left it down for more than two hours.

With normal instincts clipped and the inability to tweet feelings gone, users had to go elsewhere to share their thoughts.

Some went to Facebook, and Twitter’s official profile.

While the Twitter pages of Reddit were soon awash with updates too.

Even those on Instagram got involved.

The site began to stir back into life after more than two hours of issues – making it one of the longest outages in the site’s history. Some of the first to get back onto the site were relieved to be back.

Issues persist with Twitter.com and images displaying in app versions of the platform, but it appears the panic is nearly over.
