Microsoft is constantly working on new features for Windows 10 and testing them through its Insider Program – and one of the newest experiments could redefine your page layout.
The newest build of Windows 10 being pushed to those on the Insider Program includes a new feature in Edge, Microsoft’s new default web browser, that helps to better organise your various tabs.
A new “Snooze” action has been added that can be used to set a reminder about a tab using Cortana, the Windows virtual assistant. Put a time limit on the reminder and once the time is up, Cortana will pop up with an alert to notify you. Clicking will then re-open the tab.
What this means is you’ll no longer need to overload the top of your browser window with different tabs of the various things you’re currently working on or need to check in on. Gone – potentially – are the days of that important registration form getting lost among all your tabs.
For procrastinators and the chronically busy this could be a saviour of a feature – simplifying and better organising your screen as you work.
There’s no word on if and when this Snooze feature could make it into a full version of Windows 10 and actually become accessible to the public, but it’s a promising sign for current Windows 10 users hoping to see more updates from Microsoft in the future.
