Everybody knows about Leonardo DiCaprio’s struggle to win an Oscar, right?

Well, now his five-time nominee plight has been turned into a retro-style video game – Red Carpet Rampage. Here’s the trailer.

Leo’s Red Carpet Rampage Trailer

Unless you’ve had your head buried in the sand for the last decade, you’ll know Leo is on his fifth Academy Award nomination for his role in The Revenant.

The 41-year-old has infamously missed out on winning the trophy for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape in 1994, The Aviator in 2005, Blood Diamond in 2007 and The Wolf Of Wall Street in 2014.

But now animation company The Line has made the game – so he can win an animated Oscar even if he misses out on a real one on February 28. (We hope not, Leo!)

Here’s the teaser for the game: “Get Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar or die trying in Leo’s Red Carpet Rampage, an arcade-style platform game where you race down the red carpet on a quest for the ultimate award. Collect as many Emmys and Golden Globes as you can along the way. But beware of pushy photographers and watch out for Lady Gaga… and Icebergs.”

The hilarious game features Leo chasing the Oscar down the red carpet, jumping over photographers and trying to collect other awards on the way. He also races against fellow nominees dressed in character – Eddie Redmayne dressed as his character Lili Elbe, Bryan Cranston as Trumbo and Matt Damon as The Martian.

Lady Gaga also features and subsequent bonus levels include “act harder”, “get in the car”, and, in reference to the diversity row, “spot the black nominee”.

This might prove more entertaining than the real ceremony!
