The app that arguably lit the blue touch paper for the world of mobile gaming – Angry Birds – is back.
Angry Birds Action! has launched as a completely different take on the hugely popular mobile franchise – 3D graphics and a new top-down view are the most striking of the changes.
The game has also got an additional real world twist in that more than one billion “BirdCodes” have been placed in various stores and on products around the world – including H&M and Walmart in the US – and when scanned unlock new in-game content. Augmented reality app Zapper has partnered with Angry Birds developer Rovio to embed their scanner into the app to capture the BirdCodes.
It’s a busy time for the Angry Birds universe, the first movie based on the game is out in May.
We definitely won’t be short of red bird-related content this summer then.
