Microsoft has released their new preview builds for Windows 10 on PC and mobiles.
The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14366 for PC, and the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 14364, are still being finalised before the update but the preview builds are available now to testers who are on the Fast Ring.
Software engineer Dona Sarkar wrote on the Windows Experience blog:
“The team is now laser focused on getting ready to ship the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to customers this summer.
“This means you won’t see significant new features in builds for a little while.”
She also detailed on the blog how the builds will include some really important fixes as well as general performance improvements.
One thing that customers will notice is new is an Office Online extension – this means you don’t need to install Office to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Sway Online, making it the quickest way to view, edit and create files, in Microsoft Edge. Meanwhile, OneDrive allows you to access any recent files quickly.
There’s also a Windows Store Update which will prevent the Store from crashing. Microsoft hopes customers will see an improvement in navigating the store too.
Those with access to Windows Insider – a program by Microsoft that allows users to sign up for early builds of the Windows OS – are checking out these new preview builds so they can give Microsoft feedback. The update will go out to the 300 million plus active devices already running Windows 10 today.
