While the biggest news at Microsoft’s E3 press event understandably revolved around the new Xbox One S, there were plenty of games to marvel at too – many of which gamers will probably be playing on the new console.

Here are the best bits of everything we saw:

Forza Horizon 3

Racing games seem to be getting more and more beautiful by the year, and Forza Horizon 3 is no exception. Set in Australia and containing several hundred cars – including that ridiculously gorgeous new Lamborghini seen at the start of the trailer, this is a feast for the eyes.

ReCore

First seen last year, this caught the eye then for the unique styling and setting it presented us with. A year on and ReCore still looks like it could breathe life into platform gaming.

Dead Rising 4

Sometimes you just can’t beat a good old-fashioned zombie-slaying gore fest, and Dead Rising has been doing that almost to excess for some time now. A fourth instalment simply gives anyone who hasn’t played the series before an excuse to jump in.

Scalebound

The dragon and human co-op that’s due next year previewed another side of itself at this year’s E3 – multiplayer. Several dragons at once sounds like our kind of fun.

Sea of Thieves

There’s not much more to say other than this looks awesome. When can we play it?

State of Decay 2

Channelling The Walking Dead a little bit, this is a zombie fantasy game where the aim is as much to build yourself a settlement as it is to take down the undead.

Halo Wars 2

Because no E3 would be complete without a dip into the Halo universe.

Tekken 7

One of the biggest arcade fighting names out there is back again in all its glory.

Mafia III

Hugely anticipated, Mafia III is looking better and better with each passing trailer.

We Happy Few

In a dystopian 1960s England that lost the Second World War, everyone takes ‘Joy’ to keep them happy. But what happens when you stop?
