The iPhone rumour mill has kicked into overdrive after the apparent leaking of footage online claiming to show a new 4-inch version of the iPhone 6.
Now, there have been suggestions for some time that an iPhone 5c-style device could be launched as early as March, with this video apparently backing up those reports.
And the “4-inch” part of all this is significant because this is smaller than the current generation iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Four inches is the screen size of the previous generation 5-series devices (iPhone 5, 5s and 5c), which was expanded to 4.7-inches with the re-design introduced for the iPhone 6.
Reverting to the previous generation’s screen size but with the modern styling could be a smart way to create a new “entry-level” iPhone, but the one thing the rumour sites can’t agree on is a name.
Some say this will be the 5c (again), or maybe the 6c? Or even the 6e. With an Apple event expected in March to unveil a new Apple Watch and maybe the phone itself, we might not have to wait too long to find out.
