You know the drill: you’re hungover, and only a Wetherspoons fry-up will do.
But, you’re feeling a bit extra. You can’t be doing with going up to the bar to queue and order your breakfast – you just want to stay in your seat, thank you very much.
Luckily, Wetherspoons is now letting customers order to their table from the comfort of their own seat.
The company has launched a free app, available on iTunes or Google Play, which can now be used to order food in all 903 Wetherspoon pubs in the UK. Oh, and it’s not solely for food – customers can also use it to buy just drinks.
Think of *all* the ways this could change pub-goers’ lives – mainly, no more having to sit alone at a table looking like a lemon while your pal goes to order for you.
Wetherspoons also say the app is useful for families who don’t want to leave youngsters unattended and people who aren’t very mobile.
So, how does Order & Pay work exactly? Simple – you download the app, input your table number and order what you would like by using the scrolling menu feature. You then pay by card, Apple Pay, Android Pay or PayPal.
And what about checking if a customer is over the age of 18? Well, after an order has been placed, if the member of staff who takes the drinks to the table thinks that the customer is under the age of 21, then proof of age will be asked for.
If the customer isn’t able to prove their age then they won’t be served the drinks – if someone didn’t have ID, they would be refunded their money.
One more handy thing about the app is that there’s a reorder function – so next time you’re in your local ‘Spoons you can just repeat your favourite purchases.
Oh, and it’s worth bearing in mind that Wetherspoons now serves smashed avo on toast.
We feel so blessed right now.
