No one likes to admit that love isn’t necessarily forever, but one Dutchman has realised that in the Tinder generation it could be much more likely.
PR worker Omar Kbiri realised, while house-hunting with his girlfriend, that having a single home between two people who might not stay together was an impractical idea, and so began working on a concept for a house that not only floats, but can also split should the couple living there do the same.

After enlisting the help of Dutch firm Studio OBA, they created Prenuptial Housing, a property that can be split in two, with both pieces floating away as their own fully functioning home.
Not only that, but should they happen to find love again, the pieces are able to be fitted together to make new homes.
The long term aim is a prototype and then a model that could be brought to market; this is still very much a concept. Several of the core features, such as how to power each half of the house, or the requirements for needing two front doors, kitchens or master bedrooms, have also yet to be addressed.
What is known is the planned building materials – lightweight carbon fibre and timber.
