Fitness trackers are quickly becoming essential pieces of tech for many of us – turning us into achievement hunters as we go out of our way to try and hit that daily step goal.
TomTom, most famous for their various navigation devices, have been getting into wearables and at IFA unveiled the Touch, a new fitness tracker that’s designed to take on the Fitbits of this world.
It’s unique selling point is that when wearing the Touch it’s able to measure your body fat and muscle mass, giving you readouts on these figures so you can get the cold, hard numbers into how your fitness routine is affecting your body.
Or reveal if your body fat is a bit high.
The Touch is designed to be worn 24/7 – it can track sleep too – and also monitors heart rate and your steps. All of which can be tracked from within the companion smartphone app.
Pre-orders have already started and the Touch is due to launch in October.
The Touch formed part of a busy IFA for TomTom, who had seven new products on show, among them a GPS watch called the Adventurer and new satnav systems.
