Highly anticipated space exploration game No Man’s Sky has revealed it has settled a legal challenge that threatened the game’s name.
Sean Murray, head of HelloGames – the studio behind the game – revealed on Twitter that broadcaster Sky TV had raised concerns over the use of the word ‘Sky’ in the name.
The game had been due to launch at the end of this month, but has now been delayed until August. Murray tweeted the news that the legal issues have now been resolved.
The game has been eagerly anticipated because of its huge scale – set in a universe that is technically infinite, with the game housing an algorithm that can keep spawning new worlds for players to explore.
Sky has not commented on the dispute.
No Man’s Sky is due for release on August 10 on PlayStation 4 and Windows.
