Domestic robots are no longer the fantasy of science-fiction movies and a new concept wants to help you look after your health and wellbeing.
Pillo is a home-based robot that is able to recognise different members of the family, monitor their health and medication as well as interact with mobile devices and wearables to provide alerts and connect users with health professionals.
Still in concept and looking for funding on Indiegogo, Pillo is still some way off making it into the real world, but at the time of writing it had already gained more than 50% of its funding goal, with a month still left on the campaign.
The level of functionality suggested in the video is hugely impressive – from facial recognition to the ability to re-order vitamins and push notifications to various devices when family members miss vital doses of their medication.
If Pillo’s developers can make all this possible, it would make for a seriously useful product.
