Pokemon fans around the world have been sent into a flurry of emotions today as news broke that the augmented reality game – Pokemon Go – where players can try to catch them in the real world using their smartphone camera – had launched.
However, there are a number of caveats to the launch, with availability depending on where you are in the world, what device you’re using and just how busy the servers are all affecting eager players from getting their Pokemon fix.
First, there was delight that the game, which has been in beta in the US since May, was now officially launching.
But this was quickly followed by the realisation that the game was currently only available in Australia and New Zealand. Which went down well with users elsewhere.
Combined with some light gloating from those already playing.
But it wasn’t all plain sailing, as some server issues were keeping some players from catching any Pokemon.
Then there was one person, who wasn’t sure if this was the future we should all be hoping for.
