The huge success of Pokemon Go has seen Nintendo’s value rise to levels not seen since the 1980s – but it looks like there could be more good news on the way.

Deadline reports that Legendary Pictures is leading the rest of Hollywood’s studios in the pursuit of a live-action Pokemon film.

A deal has been on the cards for a long time between Hollywood and the classic 90s Japanese franchise, but the new game’s performance since release has made it all the more likely.

Legendary is fresh from turning another game into a blockbuster with Warcraft and, while nothing is confirmed yet, the belief seems to be that a Pokemon film could enjoy similar success.

Pokemon, since launching as a card trading game and animated TV series, has had plenty of films, but no live-action movies as of yet.

Let’s just hope we don’t end up with another Dragonball Evolution.
