They did it last year with the insane reintroduction of DOOM, and now in 2016 gaming studio Bethesda has managed to equal the nostalgia stakes thanks to the announcement that it is bringing back Quake.
The shooter is one of the reasons modern multiplayer games even exist, and the new game: Quake Champions, is all about celebrating that history.
Also featured in their showcase was the much anticipated Dishonored 2, which was announced last year, but given a real airing for the first time here.
From the same studio – Arkane – we also got a first look at Prey, a psychological science fiction thriller set in the near future.
It’s set for release next year.
Elder Scrolls fans were also given the opportunity to get excited about this.
And finally, there was some news on DOOM, that mainly focused on the multiplayer and create aspects of the game.
All in all, a decent evening’s work from Bethesda.
