No Man’s Sky is one of the most anticipated games to launch on this or any generation of games consoles.
The PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows exclusive has been defying all our thoughts on computer power and scale ever since it was announced amid declarations that it was powered by an algorithm that uses procedural generation to keep building the universe it sits in. In theory, the game is infinite, the size of the physical universe.
Wedges of gameplay footage have appeared since No Man’s Sky was announced in 2014. Now there are 15 more minutes courtesy of PlayStation’s official YouTube channel and it seems the game might be even bigger than it already appeared. As Sean Murray from developer Hello Games revealed, subterranean exploration is also a big part of the game.
June 21 cannot come soon enough for many gamers, with several of the days that follow it likely to be written off entirely as this universe is explored.
