This is the robot which can help hotel guests by answering questions about the venue and offering directions to local attractions.
Pepper stands at 1.2 metres tall with large expressive eyes and lifelike movements and gestures.
It has taken on the role of technical ambassador at the Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas.
Pepper, created by SoftBank Robotics Europe, will greet guests in the hotel’s 23rd floor sky lobby. Think of it as a robotic concierge.
It can identify the guests’ age, gender and mood by detecting facial, body and voice cues.
A hotel spokesman said: “Pepper can provide answers to property-specific questions, give directions, tell stories, dance, and even pose for a selfie.
“Pepper adds a whole new layer of exceptional and friendly service to the hotel’s triple five-star status.
“In a city dominated by the latest and greatest, Pepper is the newest attraction and enhancement in the Entertainment Capital of the World.”
The hotel believes that’s Pepper’s presence will complement existing hotel services “through engaging and playful entertainment”.
