Stats only tend to have a real impact when you can personalise or relate to them, so Spotify has done just that.
The music streaming service has launched the Year in Music tool, which enables users to find out more about their listening habits from the past 12 months. The tool tells you what the first song you listened to this year was, as well as your favourite artist, album and track.
There’s stats for listening time too, with your total number of streams added up and displayed as days and hours
It’s been a busy year for the streaming service thanks to new competition from Apple Music, and Taylor Swift’s now infamous withdrawal of her back catalogue from the service.
The web app also recommends playlists to you comprised of artists who made big news throughout the year, as well as songs linked to big events, including playlists surrounding the FIFA crisis (yes, really) and the legalisation of same-sex marriage.
You can try the tool out yourself here.
