Pokemon Go is great, and everything, but even its most adamant defenders would struggle to argue with two things.
The first: battery life. Pokemon Go robs your phone of power at a quicker rate than seemingly any other app, which is understandable given the game relies on GPS, but still a nuisance. The second also has to do with GPS – data.
Chasing Pokemon through the streets is extreme fun and, some would even argue, necessary – but given that it requires internet, data is being rinsed. It’s a problem, but one that T-Mobile in America has decided to help with by offering free data to Pokemon Go players.
On top of free data for a whole year, the provider is offering free Lyft rides (kind of like Uber) of up to $15 to get to new PokeStops or Gyms, free Wendy’s Frostys, and 50% off powerpacks to help with your battery life.
There are no similar perks currently on offer in the UK – given that T-Mobile has become EE – other than tips on how to save battery and data.
Let’s hope the UK catches up soon.
