It’s been a busy week with the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona taking up a lot of the headlines, but there’s been plenty of other cool things from the world of gaming and movies too.

Project Morpheus

Sony’s virtual reality experience has had an update, including a redesign to make it lighter and more comfortable. It was shown off for the first at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this week.

Gigantic

Another GDC announcement, Gigantic is a new action-adventure game that is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10. Players have an enormous Guardian watching over them as they enter battle, and from the looks of the trailer it looks a lot of fun.

Galaxy S6 and S6 edge reveal

One of the biggest announcements of the week was Samsung’s two new flagship phones; the Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge. You’ve probably read quite a lot about them both, but here is the chance to have a proper look at them.

HTC Vive

HTC laid down quite a marker with this announcement. Their take on VR comes in the form of a partnership with Valve – the gaming platform giant and development studio. The hands-on reaction has also been great – this is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Age of Ultron

To say there’s hype around this movie is a ridiculous understatement. If you’re not sold, then the chances are watching this trailer (filled with tech-friendly AI) should change your mind.

Firewatch

A mysterious game that not only looks stunning but comes with a huge level of mystery around its gameplay. There’s no guns, gangs or any of the usual heavy fighting first-person games love to throw at you. This is a puzzle-based exploration game, but as this preview of the game shows, there’s a healthy dose of suspense too.

Runcible

One of the cool finds of MWC in Barcelona was the Runcible, a smart pocket watch. Forget smartwatches, this is more nostalgic. Yes, wearables have gone steam punk, and looking at this we’re delighted.
