Now that Samsung has called time on the Galaxy Note7, the process of replacing, recalling and recovering all the devices out in the world has been steadily coming to life.

However, safety questions remain a key point in the process of recalling the device, and as a result Samsung has been taking strong measures to ensure things get no worse, by sending out fireproof boxes – complete with gloves – as part of a return kit.

It’s not clear if all customers are being sent the kits – it seems online buyers in the US have been the primary target so far.

The video was posted to YouTube by XDA Developers, an Android developer which had in fact already sent its Note7 back to Samsung. It revealed the kit contained three different boxes to safely seal the device and offer thermal protection.

The box was also specifically marked to not travel by air – indeed airlines had taken to asking passengers to power down any Note7 devices on-board in the days leading up to Samsung’s complete recall and discontinuing of the smartphone.

The tech giant is offering refunds to Note7 customers, or the chance to swap for an S7 or S7 edge, with the price difference being refunded.
