If you want to become a good dancer but don’t want to embarrass yourself in a class, then these shoes could be for you.

A team of engineers has designed a trainer with sensors to help amateurs and professionals alike hone their skills, with technology providing a helping hand.

Rhythm dance shoes have vibrating sections to give the wearer live feedback on how they are doing, along with pressure and motion sensors in the sole to measure stability and technique.

All this links in with an app to teach the wearer a variety of dance styles like hip hop, salsa, tango and more.

Like many fitness apps, wearers can connect with friends, track progress and set themselves challenges. It even connects to Apple TV so you can see what you’re doing on the big screen.

The team behind the shoes, SolidPixels, has a $40,000 (£33,000) crowdfunding target which, if successful, means they will start shipping shoes in December 2017.

A donation of $150 (£123) on the site will get you a pair of the trainers with some other accessories.
