Remember when it was reported a self-driving Google car crashed into a bus?
Well it turns out the moment was caught on video. And here it is…
It was a pretty low-speed crash – the car was travelling at 2mph and the bus at 15mph – but nonetheless caused considerable damage.
The crash happened on February 14 in California when the car pulled out to avoid some sandbags in the road.
The car, and the Google driver monitoring its actions, assumed the bus would let the car in – but it didn’t and they collided.
Google says the crash came from the same kind of negotiations and misunderstandings that take place between human drivers every day.
Nobody was injured and Google has accepted partial responsibility.
