Imagine how a mosquito feels flying beside an American bald eagle – that’s how one half of Jetman Dubai, Yves Rossy, described flying alongside the world’s largest passenger plane using wings strapped to his body.

“It was absolutely surreal flying alongside the biggest aircraft there is and we felt like mosquitos beside a gigantic eagle.” said Rossy.

Rossy and Vince Reffet make up Jetman Dubai, and they took to the city’s skies alongside the Emirates A380 with the world’s smallest jet-propelled wing – four engines and a pair of wing – strapped to their bodies. After months of planning, this is the stunning footage they captured.

Yeah. Wow.

Who knew technology like that used by the Jet team even existed? What you don’t see in the video is that there were actually more aircraft flying in the same airspace, and every movement of both the A380 and Jetman team had to be carefully choreographed.

Here’s how they did that…

*Adds Jetman technology to Christmas wishlist*

Actually, that won’t be possible. Rossy is the original Jetman and created the technology himself, after wanting more than just sitting in a cockpit to fly. What’s more, he controls its movement with subtle body movements of his own.

He’s pretty much a superhero.
