A robot operated car park in Hollywood claims to be the largest of its kind, and watching it in action is awesome.
The car park was built near City Hall in June, and local government officials claim it is already a great success.
On average, 150 cars are parked daily by the high-tech robotic machines and computers – with very few human staff. The three storey building in Hollywood took two years to build and is the first automated parking lot to be funded by local government.
The eventual aim of such projects is for robotic parking is to replace traditional car parks – which take up more space due to the space required to allow drivers to manoeuvre. Robotic car parks can stack vehicles more compactly and in high blocks which take up less area on the ground.
