Drones, UAVs, quadcopters – call them what you like, they are everywhere these days.

From being flown over football stadiums to crashing into the gardens at the White House, we seem to be hearing about them on a near daily basis as more and more people get their hands on the remote control sky-duellers.

While this has implications on the safety front, sometimes it’S great to see a drone owner embracing the lighter side of things, and that is exactly what Star Wars fan Adam Woodsworth has done.

Using an original Speeder Bike toy, based on the one above and like those used by Imperial forces in Return of the Jedi, Adam added custom quadcopter features – including four rotors – and even a Scout Trooper to pilot the Bike. The end result will bring joy to any Star Wars fan.

If you forgive the knock-off Star Wars theme music, this is one of the coolest drone videos you’ll see, and the beauty of it is anyone can do it. Adam was nice enough to post his building notes to makezine.com.

That’s your next weekend project sorted.
