Smart devices and traditional wallets are steadily being merged together as cash goes paperless and so do loyalty cards – mainly to digital wallet apps on smartphones.
However, the physical wallet is not quite ready to give up the fight just yet, and a new Kickstarter project centres around a wallet filled with smart features to rival any phone.
From the basic feature of being able to slide cards in and out of the Wonder Wallet there are some handy digital features too, driven by the E-paper display.
Connected to your smartphone, the Wallet is able to use location data to push useful travel information to the display on the Wonder Wallet, as well being able to pull up bar codes for your loyalty cards.
With many smartphone makers now introducing digital wallets to their products as a place for storing cards, money and tickets, it’s interesting to see a different spin put on the idea – one that keeps a physical wallet in play for those who want such a set-up.
At the time of writing, the Wallet has made a steady start to its Kickstarter campaign, with just over $13,000 gained on a target of $50,000 – with 30 days left.
