So, something that exists in the world now is a 14 foot arcade machine. An arcade machine bigger than an African elephant. An arcade machine with a 16 inch track ball. An arcade machine so big players have to climb stairs that come out from the bottom in order to work the controls.
Now at first when we heard about this, we found ourselves questioning why? What was the point? But then we climbed out of our little box and looked at the bigger picture. We’re still not sure what that picture shows, but a giant arcade machine with more than 200 classic games on it seems very cool. Or something someone dreamed up on a strange acid trip.
The man behind it, Jason Camberis, took nearly two years to build the machine – and now the Guinness World Records people have deemed it the world’s largest.
Jason wanted to “bring joy and happiness to people”, and while he probably could’ve done that with a regular sized arcade machine, we’re glad this giant one now exists.
Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2016 is out on September 10.
