Live streaming app Periscope has been fully integrated into Twitter – meaning you can watch live broadcasts without having to leave the Twitter app.
The move is unsurprising given that Twitter owns Periscope, but now gives users of the broadcasting app the opportunity to reach a much larger audience via the Twitter timeline.
According to the app, there have been more than 100 million broadcasts since Periscope launched in March last year. From today, users will be able to autoplay both live broadcasts and replays with a tweet.
This will not only extend the reach of videos, but also give Twitter users who are not on Periscope the opportunity to see Periscopes even if they don’t have the app.
Periscope confirmed that the rollout will begin on iOS, reaching Android “very soon”.
